SMART Recovery Seeks to Grow Online Meeting Capacity

In order to help meet the sudden increased demand for online recovery support meetings, SMART Recovery has announced that it is training hundreds of its meeting facilitators to lead online meetings for their group members.

SMART already offers more than 40 meetings a week online via its website, and it is working toward increasing that number. SMART Recovery USA President Bill Greer said in a news release that many group members “cannot risk exposure to the coronavirus for health reasons. As we must close face-to-face meetings during this pandemic, we realized the best thing we can do is expand our online meetings significantly.”

A listing of available online meetings can be found on SMART's website. SMART Recovery is considered the leading recovery support alternative to 12-Step based organizations such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
