Resnick, MD discusses common traits in school shooters, misconceptions people have about school shooters, and how mental health clinicians can help prevent school shootings. He also details steps that clinicians can take when evaluating someone who may be at risk of carrying out a school shooting and components that should be included in the treatment plan for such patients.

Dr. Resnick Professor of Psychiatry, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, Ohio, presented a Featured Session on school shooters at Psych Congress 2019 and has consulted on school shooting cases.
